The HUBZone Empowerment Contracting program provides federal contracting opportunities for qualified small businesses located in distressed areas.

  • Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB) Federal Contract program

The Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB) Federal Contract program authorizes contracting officers to set aside certain federal contracts for eligible: Women-owned small businesses (WOSBs)or Economically disadvantaged women-owned small businesses EDWOSBs)

Additional contracting and assistance programs exist for businesses owned by Veterans, Native Americans, Alaskans, Native Hawaiians, and other socially and economically disadvantaged business owners. 

 


State Procurement Certification Programs

  • SWAM Procurement Initiative

This program is the Commonwealth of Virginia's initiative designed to enhance purchasing and procurement opportunities for certified Small (SBE), Women- (WBE), and Minority-owned (MBE) businesses. To participate in the program, SWaM certification is required. Agencies have a 42% spending goal with SWaM certified small businesses.
